Bob Dorsey has been a professional Illustrator and Fine Artist
since 1980. He graduated with a B.F.A. in Painting from RIT
and an M.F.A. in illustration from Syracuse University.
He
has worked as a staff Illustrator for the American Greeting
Card Co. and for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland,
Ohio.
He
works with a wide range of media including oils, acrylics, gouache,
pastel, mixed media and sculptural media. He also enjoys a great
variety of subject matter including portraits, wildlife, landscapes
and sports.
His
work has appeared in books,advertising campaigns, and magazines.
He has created art for many national clients including Kodak,
General Electric, Pepsi, Time Inc.,Trump International, Newsday,
Doubleday, Hyperion Books and countless others.
He
is well known for the numerous portraits that he has completed
for the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown NY as
well as the Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame. His work has been
exhibited at the prestigious Society of Illustrators in New
York and has appeared in the American Showcase and Workbook
publications.
Currently
Bob is an Associate Professor in the School of Art at the Rochester
Institute of Technology in Rochester NY where he teaches illustration
courses. He continues to freelance for illustration clients
and remains prolific with his more personal fine art projects.
